Some information about packaging and the use of plastic

Hello,

I would prefer to use no packaging at all but it’s not possible. I have to protect my fabric and paper things to be sure they arrive in good condition, and package up paintings so they aren't damaged in transit.

All my packaging is recyclable, and much of it is compostable. I use Kite Packaging and Eco-Craft for all my packaging - both specialise in sustainable packaging - and the Better Packaging Co. for my compostable mailing bags.

My notebooks and cards are all individually wrapped in bio-degradable film made from vegetable starch, and my paintings are wrapped in cardboard sheeting instead of bubble wrap.

The least sustainable packaging I use is the bags I put my cushions in, and they are still recyclable. They're a four on this recycling guide from Kite Packaging.

If you want to know more about any of this, or want to suggest another supplier please get in touch.

I like to put pictures in my blogposts so here is a drawing of a fly buzzing into a businessman’s ear.

OK David
